Free META Tag Extraction Tool
The truth is, WAY too much emphasis is put on META tags by many SEO firms and consultants these days. There was, admittedly, a time when they made a lot more of a difference than they do today. But these days, the only thing you really need is the "Description" tag; the rest is just fluff. And fluff leads to HTML Bloat– a disproportionate ratio of code markup to real content.
What the META Description tag does is provide some context for the material on your page, so users looking for your page can get a short understanding of what they'll get if they click on your link. These tags don't do a lot for SEO purposes except to provide context. Some of these tags, which many SEO firms will insist that you utilize (i.e. the "Revisit-after" tag) don't actually do anything at all!
This tool is good for analyzing what your competition is targeting for keywords, and how they structure their META tags. But take it with a grain of salt; there are much more important things to focus on when trying to optimize a site for the search engines.
